Welcome to OVTPA'S Summer 2023 Tennis Program

Our small group lessons run Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week from June 5-July 27. We will not run lessons the week of July 4th.

We are offering 30 min lessons for kids ages 5-7 and 60 min lessons for ages 8 to adult.

The cost is $60 a week per person for four days ($20 per week for ages 5-7 doing a 30 min lesson). You must pay in advance for the full week. Make-up lessons can be arranged if there is availability.

We have three times:

7:00 am to 8:00 am (adults and high school)
8:00 am to 9:00 am
9:00 am to 10:00 am

We will put your child in the time that is closest to your child's age or ability, but please let us know your preference. If you have more than one child signed up, we will try to get them at the same time if possible.

Our fantastic instructors are the reason our program is successful! They are excellent teachers and professional tennis coaches at Fremont and Bonneville High Schools.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

For accounting purposes, your payment for tennis lessons must be split into instruction and a mandatory donation to the Community Foundation Ogden Valley (CFOV), our fundraising partner. All funds donated to the CFOV are matched by them and returned to us to help run our program. These funds pay for perishable equipment (balls, etc), permanent equipment (benches, backboard, net) and improvements. We love CFOV and appreciate how they help us keep these lessons affordable. All OVTA staff are volunteers.

After you have received a confirmation email from the OVTA, you can pay with one of two options:

1 - VENMO @OgdenValleyTennis

In the "What's it for?" please record it like these examples:

 for one week:
$30 one week tennis lessons for Josh
$30 CFOV donation

for 4 weeks:
$ 120 four weeks tennis lessons for Josh
$ 120 CFOV donation

OR

2 - Personal Checks (2) on first day of class session

For accounting purposes please follow this example for one week of lessons:

1 check for $30 made out to OVTA with "tennis lessons" in memo
1 check for $30 made out to OVTA with "CFOV donation" in memo

Please email us at OgdenValleyTennis@gmail.com if you have any questions about the process.

RAIN DAYS

THERE WILL BE NO TENNIS if it is raining or the courts are wet. It ruins the balls and the rackets. If it is raining, please Click on the RAIN DAY tab above and we will list the cancellation there. We will do make-up days where possible or refund the day through Venmo.

Welcome to our Tennis Blog!

Hello,
I'd like to introduce the Ogden Valley Tennis Association.  We are a non-profit created to raise funds for the upkeep of the beautiful public tennis courts that were built with RAMP funds and the generous donations of hundreds of Ogden Valley residents and friends of Ogden Valley.  Tennis courts need regular maintenance including new nets, new balls, racquets, etc...

We also have a member of our organization sitting on the Ogden Valley Tennis Board, along with a member of the Liberty, Eden and Huntsville Park boards, a Weber School District member, and the Principal of Snowcrest Jr. High.  This board was created to support, make decisions for and help manage the Tennis courts as we don't have a Recreational Department in Ogden Valley.

Our non profit was also created to provide affordable instruction so that the sport of tennis is available to all.  These public courts are open to everyone each day free of charge, with a few posted reserved times for public tennis lessons during June and July. These lessons are for every age, boys and girls, men and women.

Public play is available with no time limit if no one is waiting to play. If someone is waiting to play, please limit your time to one hour. If you use them in a for-profit way (private instruction), please stop by the office inside Snowcrest Jr. High and pay your $3 an hour fee.  If people are waiting to play, please keep your use to one hour.

We would like to see these courts last for many years so we would ask that you take good care of these courts and follow the rules of care as posted.
