Hello Tennis Friends!  The Ogden Valley Tennis and Pickleball Association (OVTA) is happy to announce our 5th Annual Tennis Tournament for Youth. We have had a wonderful tournament for the past 4 years and are so grateful for the support of Christy Tew who ran these in honor of her Husbands passing.  Christy has moved on to a new journey and adventure in her life but we love her and all she has done for Tennis in Ogden Valley!

We are so happy to continue having an Ogden Valley Tennis Tournament and invite you to register at OgdenValleyTennis@gmail.com.  This tournament will be held Friday, September 13th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Ogden Valley Tennis Complex at Snowcrest Jr. High. The cost to register is $15.

We will have Youth ages 8-12 on two courts and Youth ages 13-18 on two courts.  You must still be in High school to be eligible to play.  You also must be an amateur school or recreational player.

2018

4th Annual Dr. Ken's Legacy Tennis Tournament

Hello Tennis lovers!

We are so happy to announce the dates and times for the 4th Annual Legacy Tennis Tournament! We are grateful to Dr. Kenyon Tew's wife Christy Tew, for running this wonderful tournament and keeping the memory of Dr. Ken alive in Ogden Valley. We hope to partner with her for many, many years to come!

The Tournament will be held on Saturday, September 15th at 8:30am to 11:30 for ages 6-10 years and from 1:00 to 4:00 for 11-17 year olds at the Ogden Valley Tennis Complex at Snowcrest Jr. High School.

We will have a Youth winner and a Junior winner! Each player will be judged for Athleticism and Sportsmanship. Their names will be engraved on a plaque that will sit next to the beautiful trophy inside the Snowcrest trophy case. We will have awards for the 2nd and 3rd place winners in Youth and Juniors as well. Our previous 4 winners will be there to play and encourage the players.

2016

2nd Annual Dr. Ken's Legacy Tennis Tournament

Our second annual Children's tournament was wonderful with double the players of last year's tournament.  It was held on Saturday, September 10th from 8:30 am until 1:00pm.  This year two players were awarded the trophy.  The Junior champion was Josh Waldrip and the Youth winner was Dawson Toliver!  These boys racked up the most points with wins and sportsmanship.  It was a great day.  4 other tennis players received 2nd and 3rd place wins.

2015

1st Annual Dr. Ken's Legacy Tennis Tournament

Our first annual Children's Tennis Tournament was a great success!  It is named for Dr. Kenyon Tew, a locally renowned child psychologist who passed away from a brain tumor this year.  He was a collegiate tennis player and when his wife Christy Tew approached us, we thought it was a good fit.  We put the idea to the Tennis advisory board and it was approved.  The Tournament was held on 25 September 2015, and was a tremendous success for our first tournament.  90% of our summer tennis kids participated.
     Christy Tew raised all of the money for the tournament, from the community in support of her husband and the tennis players.  She put together game bags for the kids with a Tee-shirt, Can of balls, gatorade, treats, and a certificate for a free tennis lesson next summer.  All the kids had a wonderful time.  The trophy for the tournament was for Talent and Sportsmanship.  The referees watched the players for talent and good sportsmanship.  The Trophy will remain at the Junior High with the winners names added to a name plaque.
     This year's winner was Hannah McKay. The referees felt like she was helpful to all, helpful to her opponents and all around encouraging and cheerful.  She also went undefeated in her games.  There were several runner ups such as Emma Goodson, Ella Nilson and Enya Banks, as well as Kai Stoddard who went undefeated and Fisher McQueen.  Everyone did a great job of being good sports and enjoying the game.
